Literary Resistance in 2018
Thanks to the maniac in the White House, last year was a very difficult year. Every single freedom we have has been under attack, from the words journalists write, to the air we breathe, to the internet we use. We've had to contend with incivility that has shown us all the disgusting levels of racism, misogyny and exclusion that exist in America. It's been exhausting. I'm tired, but I'm not giving up. There is too much to protect.
As there have been few positives politically, we're going forward with the same mission we had last year. LDM events will offer an opportunity to give voice to the America we want: diverse.
In this, nearly our twelfth year — March 6, 2018 is our birthday! — we're going to work to towards finding investors to raise LDM's profile and help us expand in many directions; we're going to work to relaunch our web site; and we're going to work to post regular highlights to our podcast channel. We have so much good stuff. It's time to share it.
Too, if you can, please endure me talking about the launch of my debut novel, Collision Theory. I'm ALL CAPS-excited about it, as it's legitimately my dream come true to be a novelist. But more on that soon.
Let this be the year we reclaim and reform America. Write, vote, protest, support those in need, and come to Literary Death Match to have a laugh and charge your batteries. We'll be around.
