Tulsa, Ep. 5

October 14, 2015 — For our annual pilgrammage to wonderful Oklahoma, we once again teamed with Booksmart Tulsa for our first-ever Literary Death Match at Living Arts of Tulsa, where writerly and comedic fireworks were on display as Beau Adams trumped Andrew Marshall in a wily Literary Charades finale to win Adams the LDM Tulsa, Ep. 5 crown.

Tulsa, Ep. 4

April 23, 2014 — To start the Oklahoma spring off right, LDM once again teamed with Booksmart Tulsa for an epic return to the Sooner State — and more specifically to All Souls Unitarian Church — with a show that saw Matt Cauthron outduel co-finalist Lara Marie Schoenhals in a hotly-contested battle of One Star Wonder, winning Cauthron the LDM Tulsa, Ep. 4 crown in overtime.

Tulsa, Ep. 2

September 21, 2012 — On a cricket-filled Oklahoma eve, Literary Death Match once again teamed with Book Smart Tulsa for a return to the 918 for a genius night that saw TulsaPeople Magazine's Jeff Van Hanken outduel This Land Press's Natasha Ball in a hotly-contested Literary Spelling Bee that won Van Hanken the LDM Tulsa crown.

Tulsa, Ep. 1

November 15, 2011 – In one of the Literary Death Match's greatest all-time city debuts (Tulsa became our 39th home), the Muzakal Chairs throwback finale saw Team Cary Aspinwall fall to Team Sloan Davis in a remarkably close, and brilliantly contested finish at Congregation B'Nai Emunah Synagogue that won Davis Tulsa's first ever LDM crown. And all of it thanks to Booksmart Tulsa.

Austin, Ep. 1

October 31, 2009—by Tyler Stoddard Smith—The Texas Book Festival was a veritable feast of literary delights, none more savory than the “boot-up-your-ass” brawl during the Lone Star State’s first Literary Death Match in Austin. Festivalgoers may have been a bit bemused at learning the forum for the LDM was not a bar called "The Sanctuary" (as I first thought) but in fact an actual sanctuary housed in the First United Methodist Church. However, the proceedings were as bare-knuckled and bawdy as they come, House o’ the Lord be damned.
