London, Ep. 24

April 2, 2012 — The masses turned out in droves for Literary Death Match's epic celebration of Picador's 40th birthday at Kings Place, a magical night that ended with Marie Phillips narrowly out-skilling her co-finalist Will le Fleming in a wild game of Cadbury Egg 10-Pin/Book Bowling by a closer-than-it-appeared score of 15-10, winning Phillips the LDM London, Ep. 24 crown.

Oslo, Ep. 1

March 30, 2012 — The start of what we hope is a long-term love affair, Literary Death Match's Oslo debut at Blå was a night to remember — with only 12.5% of the show in English! — that finished with Hilde Susan Jaegtnes out-hooping co-finalist Jan Grue in a wild, Book Burning Basketball shootout that won Jaegtnes LDM's first-ever Norwegian crown.

Dublin, Ep. 7

March 28, 2012 — Before a packed house at The Workman's Club, literary magic was made on repeat, but, alas, there could only be one champion. And after a sudden-death Literary Pictionary kapow, it was poetic heartthrob Sean Mahoney who outdueled Poetry Chicks Collective virtuoso Abby Oliveira by a closer-than-it-appeared score of 3-2, to win Mahoney the LDM Dublin, Ep. 7 title.

Edinburgh, Ep. 4

March 27, 2012 — In a ridiculously wonderful show of literary and lit-comedic fantasticism, Literary Death Match's triumphant return to the Voodoo Rooms — presented by Birlinn & Polygon — ended with poet Claire Askew outscoring Michael Pedersen in a Literary Spelling Bee by a closer-than-it-appeared margin of 17-10, winning her the fourth Literary Death Match Edinburgh crown.

Helsinki, Ep. 1

March 20, 2012 — Before a sold-out crowd at the Korjaamo Culture Factory, Literary Death Match Helsinki's debut was a night never to be forgotten, ending as novelist Riikka Pulkkinen outlasted co-finalist Teemu Manninen in a Play Your Cards Right finale that went all the way to sudden death. But in the end, it was Pulkkinen who was crowned Helsinki, Ep. 1 champ.

March 15, 2012 — The Ides of March were well-served at Literary Death Match at Concrete, a brilliant Picador-sponsored night that saw Limehouse Books-rep Sophia Blackwell topple co-finalist Rachel Genn with a come-from-behind victory at a hotly-contested Literary Pictionary finale that won Blackwell the LDM London, Ep. 23 crown.

Norwich, Ep. 1

March 11, 2012 — For our Norwich debut (our 40th city ever!), we paired with Writers' Centre Norwich for a sparkling night at Norwich Arts Centre that ended with Ross Sutherland outdueling co-finalist Martin Figura in an epic and hotly-contested battle of Literary Spelling Bee that Sutherland won in sudden death by a narrower-than-it-appears margin of 9-8 to win the LDM Norwich, Ep. 1 crown.

Boston, Ep. 7

March 8, 2012 — Before a jam-packed audience at Cambridge's OBERON, the Literary Death Match turned 6-years old on a night that began with a group-sung Happy Birthday, and finished with Team Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich out-dueling Team Bob Shea in a titanic game of Pin the Mustache on Hemingway, in which Marzano-Lesnevich won by a length of seven whiskers to become the LDM Boston, Ep. 7 champion.
