Twin Cities, Ep. 14

May 11, 2019 — In our grand return to the Twin Cities, Literary Death Match headed to The Loft's inaugural Worldplay festival for a knockout night at Lit Crawl that saw Will McGrath outlast Bao Phi in a wild Literary Spelling Bee III finale to win McGrath the LDM Twin Cities Ep. 14 crown, and literary immortality to go with it. 

Here's the full lineup from the night-of: 

Judges: 
Literary Merit: Luis Alberto Urrea, hailed by NPR as a “literary badass” and a “master storyteller with a rock and roll heart,” he's a Pulitzer Prize finalist and author of The House of Broken Angels

Performance: Tracy Mumford, a writer, radio maker and book fiend, she make podcasts, write news features and review books and movies

Intangibles: Sims, a rapper and a founding member of the Doomtree Collective, his albums include Lights Out Paris, Bad Time Zoo and More Than Ever

Readers: 
Round 1: 
* Will McGrath, author of Everything Lost is Found Again, winner of the Disquiet Open Borders Book Prize

Arkady Martine, author of the debut novel A Memory Called Empire, who writes about border politics, rhetoric, propaganda, and the edges of the world

Round 2:
