Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10:18PM November 8, 2023 — Literary Death Match returned to LA for our first-ever show in West Hollywood, partnering with the masterminds at WeHo Reads and the City of West Hollywood for a blazingly-bright night of lit, wit, silliness and belly laughs that saw Kyle Seibel topple co-finalist Melissa Chadburn in sudden death in an Arithme-Lit finale, winning Seibel literary immortality, and the LA, Ep. 53 crown.
Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 1:51PM October 18, 2022 — In our grand return to LA, Literary Death Match was back at the Hammer Museum's Billy Wilder Theater for a whizbang, talent-laden affair that saw Prince Shakur outduel Jean Chen Ho in the debut of the LDM finale "Repeat After Me," winning Shakur the LDM LA, Ep. 52 crown, and literary immortality to go with it.
Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 2:53AM May 22, 2022 — Literary Death Match returned to LA (and more specificlally Dynasty Typewriter) for what turned into a must-see celebration of words, nerds, comedy and surprise that saw James Sie narrowly outduel Natashia Deón in a Literary Spelling Bee IV finale to win Sie the LDM LA, Ep. 51 crown, and literary immortality to go with it.
Monday, July 13, 2020 at 7:22PM July 14, 2020 — In our first-ever all-digital event (click here to watch if you haven't seen it!), Literary Death Match teamed with the wondrous Hammer Museum for a magical Zoom-only event that saw Roxane Gay outduel Kimberly Jones in a baffling Cyrillic Off finale, winning Gay the LDM Quarantine, Ep. 1 crown, and literary immortality to go with it.
Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 4:57AM October 6, 2019 — In a Literary Death Match first, LDM teamed with the wondrous Hammer Museum for an afternoon of amazement, as four children's book authors read their own work, and were judge by kids! In the end, Matthew A. Cherry outdueled Isabel Quintero in a down-to-the-last letter Children's Book Author Spelling Bee to win Cherry the LDM LA, Ep. 49 crown, and literary immortality to go with it.
Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2:03AM April 19, 2018 — To celebrate the launch of Adrian Todd Zuniga's debut novel (Collision Theory), Literary Death Match was at Dynasty Typewriter for the LA Times Festival of Books for a night that saw Rico Gagliano narrowly topple Morgan Parker in an Arithme-Lit finale, winning Gagliano the LDM LA, Ep. 48 crown, and literary immortality to go with it.
Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 1:20PM January 21, 2017 — To kick off 2017 with a burst of bright-minded glee, Literary Death Match teamed with the Riot LA Comedy Festival for a brilliant evening that saw Zach Anner outduel Buddy Wakefield in a crackling game of "American Psycho or American President?" winning Anner the LDM LA, Ep. 47 crown, and literary immortality to go with it.
Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 1:54PM October 11, 2016 — After too many moons away, Literary Death Match returned to the glories of Largo at the Coronet for a whizbang affair that finished with Karen Harryman outdueling Meliza Bañales in a no-holds barred Quiz of Death that won Harryman the LDM LA, Ep. 46 crown, and literary immortality to go with it.
Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11:33AM September 15, 2016 — After a summer away, Literary Death Match returned to Los Angeles for our annual classic at the Hammer Museum that ended with Literary Spelling Bee III — the longest finale in LDM history — which saw Nadja Spiegelman narrowly topple Antonio Sacre by a single point to win Spiegelman the LDM LA, Ep. 45 crown, and literary immortality to go with it.
Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 1:26PM May 18, 2016 — To smarten up and hilarify May, Literary Death Match returned to our LA home at Largo at the Coronet for a sharp-minded night of brilliance, literary spectacle and belly laughs that ended with Jen Kirkman beating out Melissa Chadburn in a tightly-contested Lone Star Lit II finale to win Kirkman the LDM LA, Ep. 44 crown.
