September 12, 2022 — In our grand return to Midland & Odessa, LDM joined forces with Odessa Arts and Writers' League of Texas for a night of brilliance inside a boxing ring (!) that saw James Wade narrowly win over co-finalist Kathy Valentine in a thrilling battle of Original or Adapted, winning Wade the LDM Midland & Odessa, Ep. 5 crown and literary immortality to go with it.

Midland & Odessa, Ep. 4

October 12, 2018 — In our grand return to the Permian Basin, we partnered with Odessa Art as part of NEA Big Read: ArtPocalypse, for a Literary Death Match knockout that ended in a game of Arithme-Lit that saw Jodi Egerton topple Sean Petrie in a down-to-the-wire match winning Egerton the LDM Midland & Odessa, Ep. 4 crown, and literary immortality to go with it.

Midland & Odessa, Ep. 3

March 3, 2017 — In what's become an annual tradition, Literary Death Match heads back to the glory of West Texas as we teamed up with the Odessa Shakespeare Festival for a rollicking night that saw Chaitali Sen outduel Joy Jones in sudden death in a Lone Star Lit II matchup, winning Sen the LDM Midland & Odessa, Ep. 3 crown, and literary immortality to go with it.

Midland & Odessa, Ep. 2

April 9, 2016 — For our semi-annual trek to the wonders of Midland & Odessa — Texas Forever! — we once again teamed up with the Books in the Basin festival to put on a knockout night of lit, wit and all kinds of joyfulness in between that finished with Rachel Caine outdueling Josh Kilmer-Purcell in Literary Spelling Bee II, to win Caine the LDM Midland & Odessa, Ep. 2 crown.

Midland & Odessa, Ep. 1

October 10, 2014 — For a debut to remember, Literary Death Match headed to Texas' southern plains, as we teamed with the Books in the Basin Festival for a pitch-perfect evening rife with story, hilarity and tomfoolery that ended with Jeramey Kraatz outdueling co-finalist Julie Murphy by a closer-than-it-looks score of 39-11 in a Lone Star Lit finale to win Kraatz the LDM Midland & Odessa, Ep. 1 crown.
