Midland & Odessa, Ep. 4

October 12, 2018 — In our grand return to the Permian Basin, we partnered with Odessa Art as part of NEA Big Read: ArtPocalypse, for a Literary Death Match knockout that ended in a game of Arithme-Lit that saw Jodi Egerton topple Sean Petrie in a down-to-the-wire match winning Egerton the LDM Midland & Odessa, Ep. 4 crown, and literary immortality to go with it. 

What is Literary Death Match? Part literary event, part comedy show, part game show, Literary Death Match brings together four of today’s finest writers to compete in an edge-of-your-seat read-off critiqued by three celebrity judges, and concluded by a slapstick showdown to decide the ultimate champion.

Performance: John Trischitti, director of the Midland County Public Library and Texas Librarian of the Year
Intangibles: Jeramey Kraatz, author of The Cloak Society and the Space Runners

* David Eric Tomlinson, author of The Midnight Man, shortlisted for both the PEN Southwest Book Award and the Texas Institute of Letters Sergio Troncosco Award For Best Work Of First Fiction
