Boston, Ep. 9

September 12, 2012 — Before a jam-packed Club OBERON, Literary Death Match returned to Boston — the perfect kickoff spot for our 7-city/10-day LDM TV Pilot tour (help fund us on Kickstarter!) — and the wild and talent-fueled night ended with Baratunde Thurston out-scoring co-finalist Carissa Halston in a Literary Card Sharks finale, as he pulled out a closer-than-it-seemed 8-4 victory to win the LDM Boston crown.

September 8, 2012 — On an ideal Bay Area night, an overflowing crowd packed into Elbo Room for a very special Literary Death Match, and what began with a soft-spoken motherly tribute ended in wild, sudden death fashion, as Colin Winnette outlasted Charles Warnke in a best-of-3 Literary Olympiad to win Winnette the Literary Death Match SF, Ep. 47 title.

September 6, 2012 — On a wild night to remember, Literary Death Match kickstarted (fund LDM TV: The Pilot now!) its lucky 13th LA show at Busby's East, which ended with a Muzakal Chairs finale that saw Team Vanessa Veselka out-sit Team Carlos Kotkin in sudden death overtime, winning Veselka the Literary Death Match LA crown!

LA, Ep. 12

August 9, 2012 — Before a jam-packed and wily house at Busby's East, a gem-filled and hilarious night celebrating the launch of Simon Rich's new novel took a sharp turn towards the moving, and ended with Sarah Thyre's proxy Isaac outdueling Oriana Small (a.k.a. Ashley Blue, author of Girlvert) in an Olympic-themed Literary Triathlon that won Thyre the LDM LA, Ep. 12 crown.

LA, Ep. 11

July 11, 2012 — In what was one of the most wondrous nights of LA's literary year, Literary Death Match stormed the Hammer Museum where an energetic (and sold-out!) audience witnessed a calamatous finale that saw memoirist Jeanne Darst out-silly string fictonist Tupelo Hassman by a final score of 7.3 grams to 4.5 grams (what!?) to win the Literary Death Match LA, Ep. 11 crown!

June 5, 2012 — LDM returned to Busby's East for another reckless night of readings, culminating in an ultra-competitive final round of Author Word Jumble. Moshe Kasher triumphed over Anne-Marie Kinney (author of Radio Iris and representing Black Clock) when he sorted letter-holding volunteers into the correct order to spell HUXLEY.

May 9, 2012 — In what will stand as the single greatest LDM in Southern California (at least until June 5, 2012), an awe-filled night at Busby's East went from dazzling to spectacle to glory, and the blinding, breakneck finish saw Team Taylor Negron out-pin Team Ramona Ausubel by a few whiskers at a wild game of Pin the Mustache on Hemingway, winning Negron LDM LA, Ep. 9's crown.

April 12, 2012 — In one of the most glorious affairs in Literary Death Match history, countless stars were on display at Busby's East, as a wild and winding night finished with DERRICK Comedy's DC Pierson outlasting co-finalist and YA mastermind Cecil Castellucci in a nip-tuck, 3-frame Literary Bowling affair that ended 18-14 winning Pierson the Literary Death Match LA, Ep. 7 crown.

February 22, 2012 – On a pitch-perfect Los Angeles evening, the curious masses arrived at Busby's East where they were privvy to an electric night, and witnesses to a slice of literary history: a historic Pictionary finale that saw Team Ned Vizzini outguess Team Antonia Crane by a final score of 3-1, to win Vizzini the LDM LA, Ep. 6 championship.
