Austin, Ep. 5

October 27, 2012 — On a winter-cool Saturday afternoon, Literary Death Match returned to the Texas Book Festival (and Austin's gorgeous Paramount Theatre) for a knockout masterpiece that saw the amazing Kambri Crews outduel the beloved Bob Shea in a Literary Spelling Bee by a final score of 13-5, winning her the LDM Austin, Ep. 5 crown.

Helsinki, Ep. 2

October 25, 2012 — On a lit-rich night filled with wonder and oddball surprise, Literary Death Match's return to Korjaamo Culture Factory finished in high-octane fashion as Helsingin Sanomat Literature Prize-nominee Eeva Rohas out-swished Karo Hämäläinen 5-3 in a wild Book Burning Basketball finale that won Rohas the LDM Helsinki's second-ever crown.

Philadelphia, Ep. 4

October 17, 2012 — On a cool autumn night in brilliant Philadelphia, Literary Death Match returned to World Cafe Live to celebrate our 250th-ever show with Painted Bride Quarterly. The night ended with Dan Wilbur (author of How Not to Read) outdueling General Idea co-curator Kim Gek Lin Short in an air-tight game of Literary Card Sharks that ended with him being crowned as LDM champ.

Brattleboro, Ep. 1

October 12, 2012 — On a chilly early-autumn in brilliant Vermont, Literary Death Match teamed with the Brattleboro Literary Festival that turned the town into Battle-boro for a brilliant, jam-packed night that saw Tayari Jones outduel Victor LaValle in a fierce game of Literary Pictionary by a score of 3-1 to win Jones the Literary Death Match Brattleboro debut.

SF, Ep. 48 (at Litquake)

October 11, 2012 — Literary Death Match's return to Litquake was a riot on repeat, a brilliant night at Beatbox, celebrating Simon Rich's brilliant new novel What in God's Namethat ended with Team Simon Rich toppling Team Tim "Toaster" Henderson in a hotly contested Name that Literary Tune matchup by a final score of 8-6 to win Rich the Literary Death Match Litquake crown.

LA, Ep. 15

October 9, 2012 — In a wall-to-wall night of literary fascination and comedic astonishment, the Literary Death Match debut at Largo at the Coronet was a grand spectactle that saw cartoonist Keith Knight out-hoop co-finalist Jennie Ketcham in a wild game of Book Burning Basketball that saw Knight comeback for a knee-tingling 5-3 victory to win him the LDM LA, Ep. 15 crown.

September 30, 2012 — On a lazy, sun-drenched Sunday, Literary Death Match teamed with the West Hollywood Book Festival for a sun-drenched, outdoor blowout that ended with Rachel Resnick outdueling Lisa O'Donnell in a Literary Spelling Bee battle that netted Resnick the LDM LA, Ep. 14 crown!

Twin Cities, Ep. 8

The blood-thirsty crowds that packed The Nomad World Pub to celebrate LDM's 8th visit to Minneapolis (plus the launch of Lara Avery's Anything But Ordinary) saw the closest LDM finish in history as poet Heid E. Erdrich outdueled R. Vincent Moniz, Jr. in a Books by Numbers finale, winning by a final score of 2287 to 2286 to win her the LDM Twin Cities crown!

September 18, 2012 — On a rain-slicked night in brilliant Montréal, Literary Death Match returned to Canada for a fantastic spectacle of wit, lit and drink-sipping at Sala Rossa that ended with a Literary Spelling Bee that saw Jonah Campbell outduel co-finalist Taylor Tower by a closer-than-it-seemed margin of 20-6 to win the Literary Death Match Montréal crown.

September 15, 2012 — In a dazzlement of Norwegian riches at the brilliant Oslo Bokfestival, a pitch-perfect night ended with a down-to-the-wire Pin the Mustache on Hemingway finish, in which Team Kristine Tofte (author of the Song for Eirabu series) outdueled Team Marianne Clementine Håheim (author of the poetry collection Murmurs) to win the Literary Death Match Oslo crown by a narrow 3 centimeter margin.
