LA, Ep. 42

April 1, 2016 — For LDM's 10-year anniversary, we blew the doors off with our AWP Super-Spectacular at The Theatre at Ace Hotel, and set the LDM attendance record (801). Presented by 89.9 KCRW and co-presented by the Otherppl podcast and Painted Bride Quarterly, the talent-packed night ended with Kirstin Valdez Quade so-narrowly outdueling Danez Smith in overtime in a Literary Charades finale to win Quade the LDM LA, Ep. 42 crown.

LDM 2015: Year in Review

Last year, our Year in Review took a turn — instead of focusing on the past year, it focused on the year ahead. LDM TV: LA, Ep. 18

12/12/12 — On "The Greatest Night in Literary History," LDM TV: The Pilot's second show (LA, Ep. 18 at Florentine Gardens) was a miracle of calamity and wonderment, as novelist Simon Rich out-score co-finalist and best-selling author Jillian Lauren in The Hunger Game — a mix of author-name unscrambling and cupcake-tossing in which Rich won the day by an 8-7 margin winning him the LDM TV: The Pilot crown.

LDM TV: LA, Ep. 17

12/12/12 — Here’s what a LDM TV: The Pilot (a.k.a. "The Greatest Night in Literary History") looks like: regulation boxing ring, smoke machine, an amped crowd of 450, a guy in a weird Oriental-patterned suit, and a full bar. Oh, and a dream roster of talent – judges Jonathan Lethem, Michael C. Hall, and Tig Notaro, and four crazy talented and diverse readers. Here we go!
